When you say always in these types of questions the answer is no.

As for lies, it's sometimes okay (especially when it involves little kids' self esteem). If your 5 year old brings in some artwork that is just a jumbled mess and says "do you like it?" The answer is yes, even though you think it's unattractive or disgusting.

Plus sometimes it is good for convenience sake. Alzheimer's patients like to insist upon things, it's easier to let them slide than to harp on the honesty viewpoint.

Let's put it this way. You found out a man is dying of cancer and he didn't know that. All the while he thought it was nothing. Will you tell him the truth and break his spirit or go along with the lie make him happy up to his last breath? My point is if lying carries malicious intent of harming or to protect oneself from threat then it's wrong to tell a lie. You be the better judge.

It is not always wrong to tell lies. If someone asks you something, and your answer is really rude, then just tell them a little lie. This is called a white lie.

I think most of the time it is, you always get caught sooner or later. I can't think of a time it would help to tell a lie.

Yes! But sometimes it's nicer to lie to people than to tell the truth.

Yes it is. Unfortunatly though (to paraphrase Jack Nicholson) some people can't handle the truth. If you never told a lie you'd find yourself alone.

Hardly any ethical questions are black and white like that. Sometimes telling a lie is harmless. Sometimes it does good. Sometimes it is the lesser of two evils.
