This will the second Christmas I'll remember Detroit not having a White Christmas. All of our snow melted from the other day's rain and even severe weather.

I need to do that extra credit for my science class. So I need to know if it was snowing at the Rockefeller Center during Christmas time in 1995-2006. Is there any web site that gives the information? If there is, can you please give me the link(s)? Thanks.

I am a Floridian and have never been exposed to any kind of cold weather less than about 60 degrees. I am going up to North Carolina in a couple of days and I am completely in the dark about what to wear for that kind of cold weather. (It is snowing)
What kinds of clothes should I buy? and any ideas on where I can get them?

I remember when I was a kid, hearing something on the radio about extremally large hail that fell somewhere around Sydney Australia, it was so large that it came through roofs of buildings and caused brick walls to collapse. I think it was something like the size of basketballs. I could not find anything on the internet about it though, and I know there is a lot of cazy bs on the internet, so if a "real story" does not show up than it must be fake. I'm curious though, what is the largest hail on record? What is the limit for a hailstone? is basketball sized hail even possible?

The 1st day of winter is the shortest day of the year - the day we are farthest away from the sun. Each day after the 1st day of winter, we get closer to the sun, but winter weather gets worse - colder, ice, snow, freezing fog, ect. It seems to me, the closer we get to the sun, the warmer it should be - can anyone make sense out of this for me?

Thanks,

Ken C.
