An earthquake occurred at 9:40 A.M. on Nov. 1 1755 at Lisbon, Portugal, and it started a tsunami ( Often called a tidal wave) . It produced waves that traveled more than 540 ft/sec ( 370mph) and reached a height of 60 ft. If the period of the waves was 30 min or 1800 sec, estimate the length L between the crests.

in the cloud as you can have spots of rain from wispy clouds, while massive thunderclouds can hold onto their moisture content until eventually releasing it as a massive deluge,so what's the trigger that determines when that happens?

Why are we getting such little rain in southern California nowadays? It's a little disturbing and I miss the occasional fall-winter rains here in So Cal. It used to rain a decent amount but now we're getting almost nothing.

i thought it was because the Earth orbits the Sun in an oval rather than a circle and summer was when we were closest to it, but since its summer south of the equater now that can't be it, so is it the tilt of the Earth that causes it or something else?
