Why are we getting such little rain in southern California nowadays? It's a little disturbing and I miss the occasional fall-winter rains here in So Cal. It used to rain a decent amount but now we're getting almost nothing.

Well it was only a couple of years ago that some parts of Southern California got their rainiest October ever, so it hasn't been that long since it's rained here in the fall. Typically the fall season is pretty dry here, but it is quite variable so some years it rains and some years it doesn't. We could be seeing some effects from global warming, which forecast the climate of Southern California to become drier, but it's really to early to tell if that's what's going on.

We are now in a La Nina season, which reverses everything, Southern California is not the only area not getting the rain, the Southeast part of the United States is the other, three states are at this time about 55% Exesssive Drought.
