A point on rotating turntable 21.5 cm from the center accelerates from rest to a final speed of .640 m/s in 1.70s. At t=1.28 s, find the magnitude and direction of each of the following:
(a) the radial acceleration
(b) the tangential acceleration

I'm not sure how to figure out the radial acceleration since this in not uniform circular motion. Thanks!

well, I'm sure the formula for finding the gravitational force is correct, if the radius is 0 the weight would ofcourse be undefined, then why is it 0 in all sources which I've read???

A set of crash tests consists of running a test car moving at a speed of 12.2 m/s (26.84 m/h) into a solid wall. Strapped securely in an advanced seat belt system, a 73 kg (160.6 lbs) dummy is found to move a distance of 0.69 m from the moment the car touches the wall to the time the car is stopped. Calculate the size of the average force which acts on the dummy during that time.

A chain consisting of five links, each of mass 0.125 kg, is lifted vertically with a constant acceleration of a = 2.2 m/s2. Find the magnitude of the force that link 3 exerts on link 2.

I know the formula is F= M A

so F= 2.2 * 0.125 but what does it matter what link it is in the chain? and whats the magnitude?

Two charges, -13 and +4.8 µC, are fixed in place and separated by 2.3 m. (a) At what spot along a line through the charges is the net electric field zero? Give the distance of the spot to the positive charge in meters (m). (Hint: The spot does not necessarily lie between the two charges.) (b) What would be the force on a charge of +14 µC placed at this spot?

Two football players start 37m apart. One football player goes from rest (0m/s) and accelerates at 5m/s^2 towards the other player. The other player maintains a constant velocity of 3.1m/s towards the first player.

How long will it take for both players to meet each other and how far will have each player travelled?

Please explain in detail and show the steps.

Yesterday I saw not one but two rainbows in the sky. They did not overlap but they seemed to be close.if you know about Venn diagrams, i would say they were like an intersecting set but they did not intersect. To an artist, they may have seemed like a clone or shadow as one was foremost and distinct; the other was in the background. is this just a natural display or is it significant?

a gyroscope consists of a metal disc of moment of inertia
I = 4.5 x 10^-5 kg m^2, mounted on a light axle of radius 2 mm
which rotates freely within a frame

I set the gyroscope in motion by pulling a 30 cm length of string, which I wound around the axle. I now apply a force of
10 N (in a direction perpendicular to the axle) to the string as it unwinds. Friction / air resistance negligible.

1. Calculate final angular speed & magnitude of angular momentum of the gyroscope

2. How long would it take me to pull out the 30 cm of string.

I calculated the work done ( 3 Nm) and torque (0.02 Nm)
