Yesterday I saw not one but two rainbows in the sky. They did not overlap but they seemed to be close.if you know about Venn diagrams, i would say they were like an intersecting set but they did not intersect. To an artist, they may have seemed like a clone or shadow as one was foremost and distinct; the other was in the background. is this just a natural display or is it significant?

Two concentric rainbows are a result of light rays taking either one or two reflections inside a water droplet. Its quite normal. There may even be higher-order rainbows, but these are rarely seen.

If you look closely, you'll notice the colors in the secod rainbow are in reversed order compared to the first.

It is just the refraction from the water.

I have seen a double rainbow once, when the rain was pouring, but the sun was shining and it was a stunning vision

To see two non-concentric rainbows you need two suns.
