I have a physics question:
Two astronauts outside a space capsule decided to play catch with a third astronaut. All the astronauts weigh the same on earth and are equally strong. The first astronaut throws the second toward the third and the game begins. Describe the motion of the astronauts as the game proceeds. How long will the game last?

I have to explain this question using momentum. Please help!!!

The velocity of a shockwave in water is 1500 meter/second, while the velocity of sound in air is 330 meters/second. The shockwave from a depth charge just beneath the surface of the water is felt by a ship 5.5 seconds before the sound is heard by the crew. How far is the ship from the explosion?
please explain in full details :)
Thank you in advance

an express train is hurtling down the tracks, a teeny tiny fly is heading towards afore mentioned hurtling train that hits teeny fly. as the direction the fly moves changes (from flying toward the train, to moving with the train, stuck to the front). there must be a brief moment when the fly is stationary. therefore the train, being in contact with the fly, must also be stationary.

is this right?

If the maximum speed was say a 10th what it is, would it have any drastic changes in the universe?
I guess there would be more and bigger black holes and light would take longer to reach us, but what would be the main differences in the universe? Would it be much different?

If only "sensible" results of measurements can be observed, how do atomic scientists verify wavefunction states of a phenomenon like a half-live and half-dead Schroedinger's cat? I remember reading that the analogy applies to semiconductor circuits, where a gas exists on both sides of a barrier until it is observed. How can this be known with certainty?

haven't taken any course in quantum field theory or read any advanced books about it, but I would like to make what I think is a deduction.

An electric field can be explained by changing magnetic field. Provided that some property of this changing magnetic field was met, the electric field may correspond to the electric field produced by a subatomic particle. So far, I don't know of any other type of field that would generate an electric field other than a changing magnetic field. Do the quantum physicists explain the electric field of subatomic particles this way? Do they know the changing magnetic field that would be necesary to generate the electric potential of the proton for instance?
