Well it depends. There are still people in the world who are living as a pre historic man in the jungles and for them the whole advancement of technology is meaningless. On the other hand there are people who lives with gadgets. From a robot dog to remote controlled car to mobile phone which can also control all household gadgets also !

But actually both of them are 2 extremes. But when we talk of the future then my answer would be that we cannot live even if we want to. human always have an inquisitive mind, he always keep on searching for better and more comfortable means and for all that questions that come to his mind. In this process it does many works which disrupts the equilibrium already maintained between him and the nature. So it start watching its side effects. Now he begin to work to nullify those effects. In this process he get more advanced in technology and intellectually. But this bigger advancement brings bigger challenges both from the nature and his own intellect. So he busy himself exploring more. Thus it is an endless circle.

We have entered this circle long time ago, now the challenges we are facing is newer diseases, global warming and the works yet to be done in science. So man has engaged himself for them. And at this stage of human advancement it is not possible to stop any further advancement because only it can show the solutions to our problems.

Possible, maybe; probable, not likely.

As we begin to fathom the purpose of our genes in the human genome, as we begin to employ nano technology, and as we begn to understand the stresses that cause aging, it is probable that we will live considerably longer than the 70 some years most advanced countries now enjoy for average longevity.

But material wears out...and our bodies are nothing more than highly interdependent material. Even when we learn to grow spare body parts, like any spare, it's unlikely the spare will be as good as the original issue. Check this out:

"The average life span of people in modern industrialized countries has grown longer over the past century, and a University of California at Berkeley researcher said the trend shows no sign of slowing down.

In a report to be published today in the journal Science, demographer John R. Wilmoth and his colleagues suggest people may one day routinely live to be 120 years old or more. " [See source.]

Yes, it's possible, insofar as you can't say it's impossible, because nobody can know what the eternal future will hold -- unless the future holds time machines. Then people of the future might know what their future will hold.
