I recently purchased my first home and it wasnt cheap, I was lied to during the inspection process about the structural integrity and the pest control, I should have done it myself, but I cant look back now.

Basically my house is termite ridden and damaged far beyond repair, I noticed it while I was trying to install insulation, in some parts you can literally push your hand thru the wall.

We havent yet moved into the property, and cannot in its current state, I have explored all avenues to annull the purchase and agreement but nothing can be done, the problem is mine. I have not notified anyone about the termite infestation, I dont know if the last owner knew.

What I am planning on doing is making it look like people have been squatting inside, spread around bedding and camping like supplies, empty beer bottles and cans, and lighting the place on fire.

Would the insurance company find evidence of the termites during their investigation into the fire?

Someone just described "flattening the depth of field" as a wide range of distances being almost equally in focus. I'm not sure I understand.

I'm thinking in a prescription glasses sense. Does this mean a wide range of distances being almost equally in focus in such a way that focus at 5 ft is as clear as focus at 20 ft? Or does this mean that focus is almost equal in the sense of a single measurement used across a wide range of distance, such as 5 ft being less clear in focus because of 20 ft focus measurement being used at 5 ft?

Also, does "flattening the depth of field" make objects appear smaller/bigger or closer/further wearing glasses than with the unaided eye?

Sorry for the hard question. Your help is appreciated.

I have a few volkswagen solar panels, those that they use to keep the batteries charged.
I´m planing to use them in combination with a car battery and a small power inverter with a timer to pump water only a couple of minutes a day to water my bonsais,
I have the panels, the battery, the timer, the power inverter and the pump,
What else do I need to make it work?

alright so i have this ecology question about H.B.D. Kettlewell and his peppered moths hypothesis. it's says:

"he placed the light moths on the dark tree trunks and observed how many of them were eaten by birds then he placed the same number of dark moths on dark tree trunks and observed them too."

and it asks me what the variable is in this experiment. but it doesn't give me near small enough of room for a graph so i was wondering what it means by variable?

I have submitted 5 resumes to a local company, each resume being for a separate office postion. NOT THE SAME ONE.

If any of the 5 are selected, I am supposed to be contacted by phone for an interview.
If they are not accepted, I am supposed to receive the bad news by email.

It has been about a month, and I have yet to hear anything: not about an interview OR rejection.

I am getting a little impatient. How long does it usually take for a person to hear some news about their resume?

(just in case, the company in question is Lowe's Companies Inc)

Science, in the broadest sense of the term, refers to any system of knowledge attained by verifiable means. In a more restricted sense, science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge based on empiricism, experimentation, and methodological naturalism, as well as to the organized body of knowledge humans have gained by such research.
Scientists maintain that scientific investigation must adhere to the scientific method, a process for properly developing and evaluating natural explanations for observable phenomena based on empirical study and independent verification. Science typically, therefore, rejects supernatural explanations, arguments from authority and biased observational studies.
(excerpt from wikipedia)

If this is true, science can only hold as true that which is verifiable.

carrying a mobile or a pda is soon going to be a pain. i-pods and such need to be loaded, powered up and need earphones. movies need screens. hospital visits are required for checkups and scans. medicines need tests. sometime tomorrow there will be implants available offering all these and more- sensory entertainment experiences, human system monitoring and notification facilities, knowledge building logic facilities, etc.
