I have submitted 5 resumes to a local company, each resume being for a separate office postion. NOT THE SAME ONE.

If any of the 5 are selected, I am supposed to be contacted by phone for an interview.
If they are not accepted, I am supposed to receive the bad news by email.

It has been about a month, and I have yet to hear anything: not about an interview OR rejection.

I am getting a little impatient. How long does it usually take for a person to hear some news about their resume?

(just in case, the company in question is Lowe's Companies Inc)

Submitting a resume is like buying 50 lottery tickets and throwing away 49 of them. I know qualified people who submitted hundreds without getting a response. Landing a job in a competitive market can be more of a challenge than the job itself. Get some help. Try to establish contacts with people already in the company doing the kind of work you want to do. Convincing them you are worth considering is much more effective than submitting blind resumes.

It depends on the company and for how long they are keeping the position posted. They may have also received a ton of resumes for the position and are taking hte necessary time to go over them.

You may want to contact the HR person at the place you are applying to in order to see what the status of the position is.
