By the sun, you are waking up one hour earlier than normal. However, as we adjust everything else one hour by the sun as well, no you're not. If you had to be at work at 8:30 on Standard time, you have to be at work at 8:30 on DST.

And the argument about kids being hit by busses is about the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. The sun will be coming up earlier now than it was at the end of December or in most of January, and even if we used more energy under DST than we did under Standard time, it's still worth it to change the clocks, so that people can have an extra hour of daylight for outdoor activities (especially in an era when we're complaining about how fat everyone is).

we think out it as political issue in our country. in India normally , day light gives approx . 12 hours . but our labour laws allows only 8 hours work per day which is based on Communism. but the communists does not understand that we have more day light (time) more than western countries .

ABSOLUTELY!!! So instead of using energy in the evening, you use it in the evening! IMHO, this results in very little energy saving ( and a few more kids hit by school buses in the morning).
