What is the difference between a distribution of scores, such as in a population or sample, and a sampling distribution?

Sampling distribution - the set of values that we would obtain if we drew an infinite number of random samples from a given population and calculated the statistic on each sample. In doing so, all samples must be of the same size (n).
Statistical Distribution - the number of times each possible outcome occurs in a sample.

I am sorry but your question is not clear. For example we have a class of say 80 students who all take the same test. Their scores form a distribution and in this case it is the population.If the class is reasonably homogenous and is large enough, the sample of this class (all the 80 students combined) becomes a good sample for all similar students of similar class taking a similar test. You can reasonably expect the average and the standard deviation of the larger population to be fairly close to the values obtained using the class of 80 students as a sample.
