Can this be done, I would assume you would have to bend the light waves back at yourself? I guess instantly freezing the air would create a mirror, but it probably wouldn't be dense enough to see anything. Heating it up could cause wator vapor to appear for a split second, and if the right amount of light hit it, it might shine back but probably wouldn't be useful.

It's been thundering here in Western Australia.
Just now loud, loud thunder burst overhead accompanied by lightening and rain.
Just then the regular 11.00a.m. Singapore to Perth large plane flew low over my house as usual. (I luckily live near the airport which has lots of green land around it)
What would it have been like in the plane? Why didn't the plane change direction? Could the plane have been affected/ hit /crashed by the thunder?

on Mythbusters the guys were shooting locks off doors at close-range so were using bullet-proof glass for protection with holes drilled for the gun barrels to poke through. If it can stop bullets how do you drill through? Is it to do with velocity or what?

Hey, I have to do this science fair project. I couldn't come up with anything to do, but I found something on catalysts: http://www.sciencefair-projects.org/chemistry-projects/incinerate-sugar-cube.html

So it says normally sugar isn't combustible, a known fact, but if you rub ashes on it is will ignite. What catalysts do is speed up reaction rate by lowering the needed activation energy. So I was going to measure the amount of time it took for different sugars to ignite.

When I tried to ignite the sugar with some ashes of burnt matches nothing happened. Do you know why? Do you have any ideas?

I think this is a really lame project but I couldn't come up with anything else. I'm not even supposed to be in the science fair, but I have to because I'm in a certain class. So if you have any other ideas for catalyst experiments (I already said I would do one) that would also be helpful. Or at least a good experiment...

Thank you so much

You can got to yahoo or google and type:

"How big is the earth?"
"What is a black hole?"
"What is outside the universe?"
What are superstrings?
And get an answer in 0.23 seconds. Do any of you people understand this?

(PLEASE note, I said 80%, not every single one, I love the ones that are unique, so don't respond with "But MY question was good!!")

Im looking for a Carbamide Peroxide, around 50% solution, for my Senior Project. It will be diluted of course before its use and the final product. Im planning on using it in a water treatment process for my Senior Project, which is using peroxide solutions for water treatments. If anyone knows where i could get some (doesn't have to be 50%) or if they have any suggestions, please feel free to comment.

Is it possible that the timescale could be off by hundreds of years for the earlier Egyptian dynasties? Could the 12th dynasty have been 200 years later than traditional time scales? Could the 1st dynasty have been 900 years later than currently predicted? I received a book written by David Down and John Ashton that made these claims. I cannot find a scholarly critique on their views. Thanks for the help!
