I need to know how to find out how much gas (nitrogen) is in a given container of known size at 60psi.

You would use the gas law: PV=nRT. You know P. I presume you know the container volume, and the temperature is what it is, but expressed as degrees Kelvin. R is the universal gas constant. So you can solve for n (the number of moles of gas) by n= PV/RT. One mole of Nitrogen is 28 grams.

I agree with Mike B, but make sure you convert the pressure of 60psi into Pascals.

When using the gas equation (or any equation for that matter, you need to use SI units).

Any gas, Nitrogen included, at STP (standard temp. and pressure) is 22.4 L
