You can got to yahoo or google and type:

"How big is the earth?"
"What is a black hole?"
"What is outside the universe?"
What are superstrings?
And get an answer in 0.23 seconds. Do any of you people understand this?

(PLEASE note, I said 80%, not every single one, I love the ones that are unique, so don't respond with "But MY question was good!!")

I absolutely agree. And its not just on here...you go to just about any help forum online and you get people like that...it takes more time and energy posting a question and waiting for a response than to simply google it...as you said, there are many decent questions here, though, and those are what I believe this system was created for.

But hey, I try to look at the positive side...I try to take the time to answer questions because it expands my own horizon. If people can't be bothered to search, then I will (on the topics I want to at least) and I will benefit in the end =)

People are not really on this site for information. It's just for laughs or to kill some time. Maybe a way to escape loneliness, pick up a significant other, find a pen pal, all kinds of reasons. I doubt many people here are truly looking for information.

"How big is the earth?"

It's important to ask that question of real people who actually live on the earth. You need their experiences, too. You just can't get that from google.

This could also be posted in the music section, as it is just as relevant to the "Who sings this?" question.

Honestly, though, I'd probably still be at level 2 if people used google instead of answers. LOL

I think that all the time when I read many of these questions. Why don't they just use a search engine. Why don't they just use a dictionary, etc.

People in here want answers in every day American English (not rude American English, unnecessarily lowering the mood of the room) by people who may have some real, hands-on expertise in the area they are asking about...not textbook style, with all the 'missing information'...that universities like because people then have to pay for professors, etc.

Sometimes you can find it in search engines, but many times you cannot. It never ceases to amaze me the way some physicists and physics students needlessly condescend...especially with all the mistakes they make!

It's not humorous to see pretenders like yourself call attention to the obvious. However, it is humorous to view the demonstrable results of your frustration. Keep it up, please.
