I really like nerdy guys, but they always seem to scared of me; or they don't believe I could really like them. And yes maybe I like a challenge.

This has happed to me since grade school. I've always been outgoing, popular, and a leader in all areas I pursued in school. But still the nerdy guys never gave me a chance...they believed I was setting them up for something since I hung out with some of the meaner kids (as one guy said once).

But now I'm an adult, cute, fun and smart...but still the nerds don't like me. Why?

In a casino someone's tampered with the die. Compared to the probability of obtaining a 1 it's twice as likely to yield a 2, three times as likely as to give 3 and so on up to 6 .
1) calculate the probability function of this loaded die
2) calculate the mean and variance of the die, and compare the results with a fair die.

thank you!!!

Tim is the director of a brand new recreation center in his city. His entire family plays various sports but as of now, his main priority is to make his children—Ed, Lisa and Judy—happy. His wife (Anna) is also taking a Golf class and needs to use the field this week as well. Here are the clues;

1)The field is available only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

2)Lisa wants to watch the baseball game, but she’s in the school play and has rehearsal after school on Tuesday and Thursday.

3)Lisa and Judy have no interest in seeing each other play.

4)One daughter wants her ultimate-Frisbee event to precede the soccer game and the golf class because soccer players and golfers tear up the field.

5)Ed is going to visit colleges on the weekend and wants to get an early start immediately after school on Friday.

*Match up each family member (excluding Tim) with what sport they play and on what day of the week. By the way, use matrices to solve this brain teaser and be sure to show your work. Enjoy!
