go to www.howstuffworks.com and search hydrogen bomb. that pretty much explains it.

Then of course, you need tritium (hydrogen with 2 neutrons), a fissile material, like plutonium 239 or uranium 235, a few brainy scientists to calculate shapes and such, a shop to shape the materials, an implosion device, a triggering device, a casing and some protective gear. None of which is readily available at Home Depot.

Hydrogen bombs are made by placing fission bombs around a core of hydrogen in such a way that the hydrogen will be compressed by the explosions of the fission bombs. By timing the explosions correctly, you compress the hydrogen with incredible force, and a chain reaction is started.

It would take a lot of calculations and work to do so in a way that doesn't just fizzle; it originally took a large team of researchers years to come up with the idea itself.

In short, you don't.

Usually they say you need an atom bomb to fuse heavy hydrogen isotopes for a hydrogen bomb.

However, in theory, lasers could do the same thing.

quite a hot question.. spent cores pulled out of the british nuclear center are at 300 degrees celcius.. i'd say you're going to need some good gloves to handle this stuff.. I'd also say you need a government to provide the facilities and staff.. if you touched or held a gram of polonium you'd be dead in? Didn't we hear recently about someone who died from this stuff?

In the meantime? Just watch 24 on Monday nights on Fox..

i heard they set off a regular nuclear bomb(fission bomb) to force hydrogen together to make helium which sets off the fusion bomb.

you dont. is the simple answer. theres loads of info here on the net, and its not exactly hidden...

what is hidden, and kept under armed guard, by burly men with machine guns and rabid rottweillers... is fissile material, nameley plutonium... then theres some plonium which will create teh critical mass... (watch the 4th protocol with pierce brosnan and michael caine)

pay special attention to the guys in ninja jumpsuits... they are the SAS, who dine freely on terrorist bombers...

and i seriously suggest you stop watching 24, and put the bong down long enough to clear your mind... and think about what your asking.. do you really want the door kicked iin at 3am... by burly armed..and well trained soldiers... plod wont deal with this... the professionals will...

ive had a crap day... windows Xp just ate a load of files, and as they say, it rolls downhill... thanks for posting such and outrageous question, it taken my mind off hydrogen bombs...mind you..no1 microsoft plaza... and from waht i saw of it on a kurt cobane (sic) died here dvd, you wont miss seattle too much.. the new-clear gateway to teh north...

of course i dont mean any of this..and if youve gotten this far, well you obviously need your mind taking off something.. ahh, what it is to vent ones spleen...

its 04 10 here... damn computers... and nite nite world... sleep tight... after youve checked under the bed for subersives...

YOu need an A bomb primary and a secondary core of Litium and U238 and Plutonium encased in styrene foam.
