If you had a significant other that you adored and loved more than anything, and that person told you when to buy flowers, or a card, or a special dinner, or some small item of affection.......do you think that person would feel as tho those things you got were sincere and from YOUR heart and YOUR choice to get for them?

Furthermore, how would it make YOU feel if you were dictated on how to show your feelings and emotions?

Probably not very good in either case.

You would have to show your love in YOUR way....from YOUR own heart, out of true and sincere desire on your part. Then and only then would you be making a conscious choice and acting strictly out of love fofr that person.

That is how the Lord Jesus wants you to behave.

CAN He make you do it? You bet......lol. Will He? No. If He did then it would be fake and not true to your heart and from the proper motivation.

Your devotion and love for Him must be true. It must come from your heart and thru your own decisions. In His terms it must be riteous and holy to love Him for Him.

If you've ever had a woman (or man....I don't know who you are) tell you that you need to love them for who they are rather than what they do FOR you......same thing with the Lord.

Good question.

God controls everything except free will. It would be pretty boring if we didn't have choices. Nowhere in the Bible does God make someone act against they're will ,He may scare them into doing what He wants, but He never took away they're free will.

GOD is far behind your mind , therefor, no logical question can be really asked on GOD, because it is valid only for the human mind, that is limited, how can the finite mind catch the unlimited ?, the answer is that it can't, that leads to faith , this is the only real treatment to those questions.
Faith is believing in spite of the evidence, and then watch the evidence changed ....

*accepting, sorry but it threw me off.

Plus your assuming God's a "he".

Well I watched the movie "Dogma", it's usually a question of freewill. As humans we have the freedom to choose to love or hate, live or die, go or stay, which frankly includes to believe in the existence of a God or not. Just like the movie "Bruce Almighty", God cannot force us to love God, just as we cannot force another human to love us.
If God can really control everything, why would he execute his/her power to control over us. We would no longer be the creation that he/she made us, creatures with minds of our own.

God doesn't control everything. He knows what is going to happen, where, at what time, but he isn't acting as a puppeteer. He lets people make their own choices, live their lives, but he wants you to make the decision to except him and the sacrifice of his son's death on the cross.

Life is a struggle. Overcoming struggle is a joy and gives meaning to life.

When we accept God we know we live for ever and are freed from all of our fears.

In this condition all life is Joy - Glory to God Forever and Peace to His People on Earth!

Because there is no god.
Think about it. God is supposed to know everything, therefore he should have known that the way I am is the way he made me trough the original creation from the start, so god made me a disbeliever, and he should have known that from the beginning. There is no such thing as free will, we are all just the consequence of events that happened before. Therefore god either deliberately made something he does not know about, or cannot control, and is therefore not omnipotent. But god is supposed to be omnipotent. Therefore there is no god.

If you had a child you would want it to love you, share with you, spend time with you.
you would want the child to do this because he genuinely loved you and not because you had the power to force it to.
Its the same with God. He could have made people so they would automatically love him and be obedient. But he doesnt want robots, he wants people to choose to love him.
