Monarch migrate from a specific location in the Sierra Madres in Mexico to the north is like a relay race! The original butterfly dies along the way, but the offspring it leaves behind continues on to the north where the cycle will start again in the fall.
As fall approaches in the north, 2000 miles from their starting point, non-reproductive monarchs are born. These are the butterflies that will migrate south. They will not reproduce again until the following spring.
It is like your Grandmother started a journey. She dies but your mother who has never been to grandmas house continues the journey. She dies and you without every seeing or knowing returns to grandmas house.

Given that the USA spends more on military than the rest of world wouldn't some of that money be better spent in space exploration than on more bombs and such.

The money spent on space reseach is generally peaceful and can lead to advancements in so many things not the least of which would be an age old question are we alone in the universe, Is there life on other planets in our solar system? Is all life built the same way i.e. it all has DNA of some sort and DNA is basically the same for all life etcetera.

I hate the idea of tax dollars going to make war especially wars like that in Iran or Afganistan.

Someone once said that if war is the answer we are asking the wrong questions.

Are we alone in the universe?
Is all life made of DNA?
Is travel faster than light possible or is there a work around?

These are just a few questions in which I think WAR is not the answer & space exploration might find the answer.

Where would be another good place to post this question?

It is weird. Even after sitting in the sun in moderate sunshine, while the rest of my body is warm my hands will still be cold. It is awkward especially when I shake peoples hands because i feel like i am making them feel cold. It takes my hands less than a minute to freeze after getting out of bed. I am uncomfortable with touching people because i don't want them to feel cold. Is there something wrong with me? If there is, what should i do?
