1 lb(m) = 0.45359237 kg
*note the m denotes pound-mass as opposed to
pound-force...aka it means just a plain old lb.

1 kg = 1000 g or 1 g = 1/1000 kg

so...lets say you have, gee, 5 grams.

5 g (1 kg / 1000 g)(1 lb / 0.45359237 kg) = 0.011 lb

note that the g's and the kg's in the numerator and denominator of the different factors cancel....this leaves dimensionless units...which then pick up the title lb. cuz this is the only one that doesn't cancel....hence the point of the whole thing :)
