This is an issue nearly as hot as religion is.

Some people believe in ghosts and other people do not. Then you have people like my husband who says he doesn't believe in ghosts, but I can not convince him to spend the night with me at The Myrtles (one of America's top 10 most haunted houses).

My personal opinion, I do believe in ghosts.

One night we were visiting my step sister who lived next door to the house where her mother died. I need to mention here that the house where her mother died was a two story house that was completely surrounded by cemeteries. There was no electricity running to the house because the property had been condemned by the city.

That night as we were leaving we looked at the top floor in the window where this woman had died. In that window stood a woman's figure and there was a light on in that room. I was not the only one to see this. My mother, step father, and step sister also saw this.

My step father said it was a sign that this woman whom he loved very much was watching over him and his daughter. My step sister and I both thought it was the ghost of her mother. My mother (always the skeptic) said it was probably some kids up there with a latern playing a trick on us. But how were they to know to go into that particular room and have a woman looking down at us?

Funny thing was, my step dad said that this figure was the same size and shape as his dead wife.

Other instances have happened to me, but there are too many to mention.

You must draw your own conclusion on whether you will believe in this or not.

Good luck in your quest.

I once saw something out of the corner of my eye whilst down the cellar in my local, no, I hadn't been drinking, but when I mentioned it to the other staff, they were terrified cos apparently a ghost had been seen there before, I didn't know this when I saw my "ghost". My grandmother says she saw her dead husband who told her not to worry, that it was all ok, but he had come to fetch him, "him" turned out to be my uncle who had died during the night, my granny only knew he was dead an hour or so after she had seen her dead husband..... so I am also undecided on the ghost thing!

Yes. I grew up in a very old very large house that had been in my family for a couple of generations. Every time my parents talked about moving somewhere more economical, myself and several others would "see" my great grandfather fall down the kitchen steps, which is how he died. The steps had been lengthened to make them safer after his death and he would half disappear so as to be falling down the old steps. He also had a very distinctive tracheotomy scar on his neck which could be seen very clearly.

I "saw" my great grandfather fall on about 18 different occasions, some in broad daylight, some in the evening and between the ages of 8 and 14, and I had never been drinking. Other people also saw him, including some family friends and a neighbour.

All the time, more so then I want to. Other people ghost seem to follow me too. i.e., I can never get a good nights sleep at my boyfriends house. He says they're his ghosts from Iraq. There was a little kid that lived at my mom's for years....but he's finally moved on now. There was the old lady that lived at my grandma's forever but I don't think she's there anymore. At my old house we had a "guard". My roommate and I would always see him walking the perimeter of the house. Though He never bothered us.

I reckon it would be hard to decide on this issue on someone else's say -so. How would you know that their experience was any more valid than yours? You would only really be able to go on your own experience - unless there were some scientific proof that was so definite that we all could believe in them. I live opposite a cemetery and so far have seen no ghosts - God I hope it stays like that or it's straight down the estate agents

Yes the other weekend - however I am still not conviced 100% that what I saw was real or if it was the huge amount of alchol I consumed before the "ghost" appreared.
The more "real" thing about it was that when I describe the vision to my friend who was with me - she knew exectly who it was......and they had died about 3 years ago!!
I kind of felt scared but at peace all at the same time - strange I know.

I don't know if I would call it a ghost or a spirit. I once saw my grandfather again a few weeks after his death. It was in the same old house that we used to live in. However, it was not just me but my whole family that got to see it. I do believe in spirits all around us.

my daughter is plagued by ghosts, she is 16 and she sees them on a daily basis, she is afraid as one pinned her down, she also hears nasty voices and she sleeps with her light on and her door open and will not be in our house alone even in the daytime. she is not disturbed in any way, she is a well balanced ,clever girl ,who does not seek to get attention. i took her to a medium a while back and she said she is a receptor for the paranormal. her sister also has ghostly experiences. i stay in this house on my own and i dont hear or see anything, its all very weird. i dont know what to think really. i'm open minded....
