They are generally scavengers, but they also have a poison (don't worry, their fangs can't begin to penetrate your skin). As for their life cycle, look them up in wikipedia
Ok, I was wrong about the scavenger part, but I saw on once suck the juices out of an already dead insect

They are actually called hobo spiders and they eat bugs that we don't like: gnats, mosquitoes, flies and other stuff.
