That is, why is the brain shaped the way it is, with all the "wiggles" in it. And i'm not referring to certain fissures, just all of them in general. Why not just a solid, smooth surfaced mass of brain matter? Sources please.

I've been volunteering in a hospital and none of the nurses really know anything. They know the same hospital procedures I do and they know how to make people feel good, but I see little evidence they know how to take care of the patients because they're all like DOCTOR DOCTOR whenever there's a question about anything.
Heaven forbid there's no doctor available. I'm not talking about changing meds or diagnosis or anything like that. I mean the time a woman who couldn't talk was trying to make herself known about something and this nurse hits the emergency button and I go "I think she wants help to get something off the table" and this lady starts nodding profusely.

we were given a scenario and we are to decide what "the right thing to do.
so the scenario is that a 27 year old woman has been brought to ER after an auto accident needing an immediate surgery. She sustained internal injuries and significant blood loss. She agreed to the surgery but refused blood transfusion because she is a JEHOVAH's WITNESS. She wants to live and ask you to do what you can to save her.
youe were give 3 options ans you must choose..
1. refuse to perform operation unless she consents blood transfusion
2. agree to perform the operation without blood transfusion.
3. agree yo perform the operation, promising to administer no blood transfusion BUT is such is necessary to save the womenm then you will do it.
so now..if you were the doctor that time, what can you do to save this women's life??
**is there aANY OTHER WAY that a doctor can save her without the contrary to the word of god?(Jehovah witness's beliefs)

please help..

For the past 5 years I have high blood pressure. It has been corrected (so they say) with 5/20 mg daily with Lotrel. During the this same time my heart has enlarged by 10% and I have developed (low grade at 2-3 times per day) stinging neck and chest pains over the last two or three years. I was not warned that any of this would happened to me. For the past three months my neck and chest pains got so bad it scared me. I went to the ER 2-3 weeks ago thinking I was doing the right and responsible thing. My EKG and blood work "both came back normal. I was released with no help provided and an $18,000 medical bill for taking up space for 24 hours ...and I still have my stinging neck and chest pains! I am outraged at my own stupidity for not being and informed patient and not knowing how to ask an intelligent question(s).about my own welfare. Can you help give me with some additional insite on what I should have done. I'm getting a sonogram tomorrow of my neck and chest from a new doctor.

B.S. in someones speech? For instance, if you met a person, and at first glance...you experienced a "wow" reflex, and started wondering if you should try to get to know them better. Upon approaching the person, your "B.S. detector" starts going off. right at that moment, you know your eyes and instincts have been decieved, and you are able to walk away(unless you must run) to avoid wasting time out of your life on a realationship/freindship that is like that car on the lot no one else wanted, but because you loved the sound of the horn, and the color of the paint....you took it home. Thousands of dollars of repair costs, and two months later, you realize what a putz you were to invest in such a heap. Had you bought your B.S. detector first, you would've had the ability to see through even your own B.S.! And you wouldn't be stuck with a couple thousand dollars woth of parts bolted together into one great pile of resentment with flat tires and a cracked rear window! Beep! Beep! B.S.!
