Yes, there is calming music.
Some music that people don't like can increase heart rate(opera, rap, screeching type singing, nasal country,
Marching music can increase the rate
Singing can increase the rate
playing the music can increase the rate
easy listening to a type you enjoy can lower the rate
there are breath taking presentations of music.
patriotic music, religious music, solemn music
music in operating rooms is effective in stress relieving and helps healing

Yes. But it also effects your emotions and mood too. Like I love metal or death metal music. But if it has something sad I might become sad and think of a sad moment. It is the same for everyone. And the people that make the music have reasons for making the music they do. Most rappers grew up in Detroit which was/is a rough state. Most metal or death metal bands had life problems and the music helped them. I have life problems and metal and death metal music helps me get through it. It's weird really. But yes it does effect tour heart rate.

Yes and it's all down to adrenaline. If you are really into music and one of your favourite songs comes on you will feel a "rush" and it feels great! You just wanna jump around and you feel your heart beating fast. It's the same when seeing a band live. Similar to what you feel when on a roller-coaster.

yes ! when i listen to a slow song i calm down a lot but sometimes slow songs make me cry so that raises my heart rate and with a fast song i am always jumping around which raises my heart rate

hell yea, ill throw on some mellow music and it mellows me right out, but then ill listen to some death metal and i can feel my heart beat faster and the adrenalin coursing through my body
