Hello
I am taking a b-complex sublingual liquid. It contains 1.7mg riboflavin, 20mg niacin, 2mg b-6,1200 mcg b-12, and 30 mgs pantothenic acid in every 1 ml. dropper. I started slowly and have worked my way up to 1 full ml. per day, which isnt alot. I take it for energy, and it somehow has been helping my panic attacks too. My question is, how much is too much? I am average weight for my height. I heard that if I take to much, that I will just pee it out. Is this true? Are there any bad side effects of taking too much? Could I just slowly increase and find a happy medium?

For about two months now, I randomly shake. To others, it looks like a bad cold chill, but for me, it is painful and embarassing. I am afraid to see a physician, because, like I said, it just looks like a cold chill.

My "shake" is violent, odd looking, random (I'm not cold), and extremely painful.

Any idea what's going on here?

I just heard a National Public Radio piece on prion diseases.

I learned a lot.

First I had no idea it was a protein misfolding (alpha to beta) disease (as I always thought prions were a form of viruses), and secondly when the protein combines with other normal proteins, the normal proteins are twisted out of there alph configuation to become beta sheets. How fascinating!

My question is this. If I were injected with an extract from a cow that was known to have Mad Cow Disease, would this prion disease be passed to my children (assuming I had no previous genetic defect predisoposing me to prion diseases), or would it end with me, dispite the fact that I fathered children while I was carried the prion.

This wasn't made clear to me in the NPR piece, which really dealt with a predisposing prion disease.

Thanks for your thoughtfull responses!!

p.s. I always respond to the best answer.

I'm presently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg daily and don't feel like it does the job. But...I know Effexor is hard to quit taking once you've started. Is it worth the "addiction?"

While working in the nursery at the hospital for my clinical rotation one day we gave an infant a dum dum(the candy) to lick on prior to performing a circumcision. I was told that its used as a form of pain management and that it had something to do with the sugar in the candy. Can anyone explain how this works to block pain sensation?

We have a different health care system in Canada, where if sick we call the doctor and the expense is paid by the government. How, is it where you live? If you must pay out of your own pocket do you delay medical care? What does a person do who has a serious stroke and must pay? Please share your experience. The reason I am asking is I have noticed many people ask questions about health care concerns that I feel they should just take to their doctors, but if they have to pay it may be a hardship.

If I wanted to request an exam to test for drug use, which test would be the best one to request: hair follicle exam or urine analysis? Which one would find something even if the person hasn't taken the drug in some time?

Every sense i had my son, who is 18 months old now. I have had upper discomfort in my chest around my ribs and really it kinda feels like maybe in my lungs. I though at first that i might of pulled a muscle somewhere in there so i went to the doctor and they told me nothing was wrong with me... Well it didn't go away so i went to one hospital which they said the same thing, so i have literally went to every hospital within a 45 min drive, all together i have had blood drawn which they said they tested for blood clots, i've had 3 ekg's and they said my heart was fine, i have had x rays on my lungs and they said there was nothing wrong with them either and eventually said that it was anxiety so they put me on medication for that well the discomfort has never went away so i stoped taking the med's and now i think that there just over looking something because i'm young... I'm only 21... What does anyone think is wrong with me?

I watched a movie that other day where this guy got scalped in this movie and was woundering if like a piece of bone was taken off the top of the skull exposing the brain, would your brain even be able to function, or would you not live long? See I don't know what would happen.

I have a protruding disc in my back (between L3 and L4). My Dr origionally perscribed tylenol 3, but I was only allowed to take 6 a day. It didnt even to seem to cut the pain at all. Or barely at all.. Today she perscribed Tawlin. I read a artical that says this medication can actually cause pain. Is that what is going tohappen to me? Am I going to be in more pain than I already am? Any answers will help!!
