I don't think it would be a great thing to do. Xanax is an antidepressant and alcohol is a depressant. I wouldn't mix the two, Xanax is a pretty powerful drug so you should be careful.

Experts say among those who abuse it, Xanax addiction has a reputation for causing a "high." It slows down the central nervous system, triggering an alcohol-like high - creating a state of euphoria, lowering inhibitions and increasing sociability.
In Philadelphia, recently, 28 young teenagers took powerful doses of Xanax during lunch period at a middle school and 12 had to be treated at a hospital.
And in Houston, last week, four students were rushed to a hospital after taking Xanax at another middle school.
Baseball's Darryl Strawberry once admitted mixing Xanax with cocaine.
And Washington's former Washington, D.C., Mayor Marion Barry has said Xanax was among drugs he was addicted to a decade ago.
When used inappropriately, Xanax can be psychologically and physically addictive, and can cause severe symptoms of withdrawal. And when mixed with alcohol, it can be fatal.

Short term is the exaggerated effects of either the alcohol or the xanax or in a sense if you had just one beer and you take a orange .5mg xanax it could be like drinking 3 or more beers.
Long term I don't think anyone truly knows other than God or possible liver damage.

hahahah "they say it can get u high" lol.... of coarse, all benzodiazepines are extensively used recreational drugs. and prescribed doses are recreational. doctors should have to try the uppers and downers they hand out.. ...........maybe then we wouldnt see 13 year old girls prescribed 120mg amphetamine a day, the equivelent of $30 of meth or coke.............. xanax isnt hard physically on your liver or rest of body. any bad physical effects would be from the alcohol... or from crashing your car. that combo deal there sure does make a person stupid.. and thats a fact. addiction and doing really dumb things are "all" you have to worry about.
