Ether. Ether was used as a general anesthetic for surgery for decades. It's also commonly available in aerosol form as deisel starting fluid.

Note that it would take several seconds of concentrated exposure in order to produce unconsciousness. A quick whiff wouldn't do the job. Also, it's very easy to overdose on ether. You could accidentally kill your subject very easily.

Fumous chloroform do the job more effectively and more safely, but it's a highly restricted chemical. The user would also have to take precautions to ensure that they didn't inhale the vapor while delivering it.

You want to spray someone unconscious??? Wouldn't it just be easier to hit them behind the ear with a lead sap?

Do not hit the person with an object that is tv in real life you will kill them. Ether will cause severe damage to brain tissue if not gien in very specific doses. What is on tv is NOT true it is to create illusion for fanfare. You are tring to deceive someone, be couragous and confront your fear. If it is requiored call the authorities. Other wise you are in for some MAJOR CACA from karma.
