A stone was thrown into air from a roof of a building 100fts. high with the speed of 20ft/s and 30 angle( from the ground level) while neglectin air resistance find:
a) the system of differential equation describing the motion of the stone thogether with the corresponding initial conditions,
b) the solution to the system in part a
c) stones highest altitude.
d) the time needed for the stone to reach the ground,
e) stone's position ( from the building) when it hits the ground,
stones velocity( its a vector!) and speed when it hits the ground
exact result
please can you show all the steps
thank you!

An archery enthusiast was testing his new bow. He shot an arrow straight up from the top of a building 48 feet high with an initial velocity of 32 feet per second. The height of the arrow (h measured in feet) after t seconds in flight is described by the equation
h = 48 + 32 t - 16 t**2.

Determine the number of seconds after the arrow is shot that it will strike the ground.

t = seconds

the instructions say find values of x between 180 degrees and 270 degrees.

1.)if sin x = -15/17, find sec x...

2.)if csc x = -3/2 find cot x.....

now it says find values of x between 270 degrees and 360 degrees.

3.) if cos x= 3/10 find cot x

4.) if tan x = - 1/2, find sin x

thanks in advance! please explain how u get the answers!!

you dont have to do every single one, but do as many as u can please!

I can simplify expressions with powers if all you have to do is multiply, but I'm stuck on some more difficult problems. One of the problems I have to do is:

(x^2y)/(3y^3x^3) times (18x^4y^2)/(xy^6)

I'm not sure if you cross multiply or multiply regularly. Or if you have to simplify each side of the problem first?

Thanks!

I know how to simplify square roots, but I don't know what rationalizing the denominator means. I have two problems that I'm stuck on:

1) 3√7/12
I'm supposed to simplify this, but I don't know how 7/12 can be simplified any more than it is.

2) √128 + √50
Neither of these square roots can be simplified, but if you add them, you get √178, which I don't think can be simplified either. So is there anything you can do to simplify this problem?

Thanks!

a seven foot ladder, leaning agains a wall, touches the wall x feet above the ground. write an expression (in terms of x) for the distance from the foot of the ladder to the base of the wall.

i got f(x)=sqrt(x^2 +49)

is that right??

and i need clarification on a previously asked question....
simplify using only positive exponents. do not rationalize the denominator.

1. square root (4x-16) / fourth root {(x-4)^3}

2. [ (1 / x^-2) + (4 / x^-1 y^-1) + (1 / y^-2) ]^(-1/2)

sorry if its confusing (specially the second one...) let me know if you want clarification on any part of it!! thanks for the help!!!

please show steps...i think i have the right answer for 2, but im not sure... i got 1/x + 4/sqrtxy + 1/y

thanks soo much!!!

A teacher decides to scale her class's grades upwards. She raises the lowest score, a 47, to a 65. She raises the highest score, a 78, to a 90. What's the linear function that would fairly convert the other test scores?

I do know the answer to this problem, but what I don't know is how to get there. What steps should I take?

Can someone walk me through this problem?
1/x - 1/(x+1) = 3

I started by multiplying the whole equation by x(x+1), so I could find the common denominator. I got:
x + 1 - x = 3x(x+1) or
1 = 3x^2 + 3x

Now I'm stuck. Did I do this first part right, and if so, where do I take it from here?

Sorry For the Caps

Originally people answer to this question was 1.5 x 10^9, but i need to know if it is right because i am dealing with Meters and Kilometers. And i think they answered the question assuming both numbers were meters.
