subtract 4 from both sides, making it x/8 = 8, then multiply both sides by 8. x = 64.

Showing all steps as we move the 4 add it to the 12 and multpy by 8

x/8+4=12

x/8=12-4 (yes minus ...we have removed 4 from both sides of the equals sign

x/8=8

x=8*8

x=64 (92?, lol you'll never get anything right ...128 would have been a better wrong answer)

(x / 8) + 4 = 12 (original equation)
(x / 8) + 4 – 4 = 12 = 4 (subtract 4 from both sides)
(x / 8) = 8 (simplify)
8(x / 8) = 8 * 8 (multiply both sides by 8 to solve for “X”)
X = 64 (simplify)

Thus, by substituting 64 for "X":
(x / 8) + 4 = 12 (original equation)
(64 / 8) + 4 = 12 (substituting 64 for "X")
(8) + 4 = 12 (simplifying)
8 + 4 = 12 (continue to simplify)
12 = 12 (both sides are equal)

(x/8) + 4 = 12
x/8 = 12-4 = 8
x = 8*8 = 64

x/8 + 4 = 12
4 =32/8

x/8 + 32/8 = 12
1/8(x + 32) = 12
x + 32 = 12*8
x + 32 = 96
x = 96 - 32
x = 64

64/8 + 4 = 8 + 4 = 12

subtract 4 from both sides, 4-4, and 12-4. gives you (x/8)=8.
Then multiply both sides by 8. gives you x=64. hope that helps

ok.. combine like numbers...

x/8+4 - 4 = 12 - 4
x/8 = 8 (ok, now isolate x)
(x/8)*8 = 8*8
x = 64!

Check your answer -
(64/8)+4 = 12
8+4 = 12
12= 12 Tah-dah!!

subtract 4 from each side... x/8 = 8, then solve for x.... come on, you don't really want the whole answer, do you? ;)
