Hi
I have the follow problem:
An essay written in the English language is 3000 words long. Assuming that the English alphbet consists of 26 upper case letters, 10 numerals and 20 punctuation marks, and the average word length si 6 characters, (a) Calculate how long it will take to transmit the whole essay through a channel band limited to 2kHz (b) How can the time calculated in (a) be reduced, without losing any information.

Can anyone please explain this to me? thnx :)

In my apartment, the maintenance person badly wired an electric outlet during a repair, and when I went to switch a nearby light on, I was jolted with a full load. I was not wearing shoes for insulation (just socks). I experienced some moderate pain and tingling in the arm. Is there any chance for long term damage? Or can I assume that there are no serious problems as the pain seems to be receding?

If you point your graphite pencil on a working cathodic PC or TV screen, what will happen ??? Are you in danger ?? In how big danger are you ?? What could be the intensity of the electricity striking you ??

What about a NOT- working cathodic screen.. if you do the same thing ??

And now let's come to Plasma screen.. They are built differently and they function differently. If you once again repeat the same procedure with a working Plasma screen.. what will happen to you ???

Now the same thing with a plasma screen connected to a machine that has been switched off.. ??

In my company we are trying to understand how can you reverse the polarity of an alkaline battery and then come up with a solution for that. We have a product that uses three AA batteries (the brand is Energizer Industrial...but it's really a normal battery). The thing is that, in some cases, we have found that the customer gets it dead on arrival. When we get the product back for investigation and we test the batteries, we find that two are somewhere in the 0.8 V range, but there is one that is always like -0.2 V. And it's always the same one (the one at the bottom - the battery housing is vertical). Nobody has been able to really answer how is that possible. We called Energizer and they cannot figure that one out either. I checked in several forums an found that customers have also had the same problem with a certain model of Canon camera. So this proves that it can happen. But, how does it happen? Why does it happen? What could solve the problem?

Puhleese help me on this one, electronic engineers out there!

Vpk=1V, Vrms = √2 V, Rsourcevoltage = 50Ω (bummer#1) L=56mH, Rinductor = 56Ω(bummer#2), C=100nF, Rload=120Ω

Find: impedance, circulating current (thats Ipk or Irms??? :-S), and VOLTAGES across EACH COMPONENT (megabummer) using theoretical as well as complex analysis.

I know internal resistances can be summed with load as series resistance, but what about the Icirculating (pk or rms???), and VOLTAGE? Do i find voltage across(L+Rinductor) or what?

{lease solve the entire question with steps, if that's not too much to ask. I'm sure there are people who love such questions and are raring to go.

Well? Help!

Quite seriously im taking this que to heart as its a major percent of my finals, the nose bleeds are not stopping. Really.
