Ohm's Law: E = I x R

E = Voltage (volts)
I = Current (amps)
R = Resistance (ohms)

E = 1.5 V + 1.5 V = 3.0 V
R = 3 Ω

Solve the Ohm's Law equation for I

I = E ÷ R
I = 3.0 V ÷ 3 Ω = 1 amp

In a series circuit current is the same throughout the circuit.
Total voltage / total resistance = total current
3v/3ohms = 1 amp
1 amp flows through each battery.
