I've always wondered why some electrical wires that hang and pass above water such as rivers have huge color balls. I always thought that if the wires happen to fall into the river, that they would be easy to locate because they would float. But this theory was put down when I saw electrical wires with color balls above ground and not near water.

Does anyone really know why electrical wires have these colorful balls?

Can you still use the fittings, after they are cleaned, in a potable water system. In other words we have a lot of copper and brass fittings that need to be cleaned so we can use them in the plumbing systems of new houses and not be a health risk because of what they have been cleaned with.

heh, this is for some take home quiz and the question is worded exactly like this

not sure if the lamps were turned on in the first place but that is probably assumed

answer choices include:
a- Both maps would be off
b- L1 would be on and L2 would be off
c- L1 would be off and L2 would be on
d- Both lamps would be on

i think the answer would be d because of the solder bridge but not sure...

and also, what if L1 was opened instead of shorted?

what do you guys think? (thanks for the help guys)
