Hello everyone

A 240-110 stepdown transformer is used with quite a lot of equipement in my home and I have recently become a bit concerned about the effects that they have on the equipement.

Thanks to some web page I stumbled across saying that transformers can 'overheat' your equipement etc.

And since most transformers aren't made by any big name brands, there really isn't a way to tell if the one in posession is a 'high quality' one or not.

So my question is, do transformers actually damage your equipement?

Anyone have expertise in this area?

Thank you very much.

What are the best materials could be used for cathodic protection of a water tank made of St-37 ( 2000 liters, 4mm thickness) ? Could it be protected using a single place for the cathode with multi wire connections? Should the cathodic cavity whch contains cathodic materials isolated? And what are the design concepts to design this system.

I would like to connect Line Out / Earphone to my Recording Device that only has Mic In and no Line In

Basically I just have to convert Line Out signal which is around 500mV, to Mic In which is around 2mV.

How do I do this, I just put a resistor between two connection. If so, how many do I need and how much?

He said that in the future, we will have no use for the steering wheel. All vehicles will be compact. They will constantly be communicating to the GPS system the vehicles speed, location, and direction. We simply select our destination on a map. The vehicle will use GPS to take us the most convenient route. We won't have windows because our vehicles will do some crazy stuff, driving on the left side of the street, running stop lights, and zooming between 2 other vehicles at 70 mph, because hey... all vehicles will be in constant sync with each other to avoid collision. Just in case the system does fail, your vehicle will stop in the middle of the road. All surrounding vehicles will be alerted to maneuver our your vehicle (similar to how a car breaks down on the side of the road). Older human-steered vehicle will have GPS attached to their car so that all the GPS system can locate them. They will be the only ones required to follow traffic laws.

Hi- I am looking to step up my business into a new 23,000 square foot warehouse in Florida. I am trying to estimate my electric bill with the air conditioning. The entire space will have A/C and the ceilings are 25 feet tall and the building will be insulated. I will keep the temp. around 80. I know it will be a lot but does anyone have any idea of how much, or a ball park idea for the summer months, $1,000, $2,000, $5,000 per month?

Here is a picture of a knife and I was wondering what the purpose of the hole towards the end of the blade is.

http://spln.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p3567612reg.jpg

The knife is large enough so it doesn't make much of a weight difference. Maybe it would be useful if you wanted to bend a piece of metal like a nail?
