Coal is converted into cleaner more transportable fuels by burning it with oxygen to produce carbon monoxide.
The carbon monoxide then is reacted with hydrogen using a catalyst to produce methane and water. Is the reaction
between CO and H2 exothermic or endothermic, and what is the change in enthalpy for it? The enthalpies of
formation of the reatants and products are given below.
Molecule Ho
f in kJ/mol
CO - 110
H2 0
CH4 - 75
H2O - 242
A) exothermic, + 317 kJ/mol
B) endothermic, + 207 kJ/mol
C) exothermic, - 427 kJ/mol
D) endothermic, + 427 kJ/mol
E) exothermic, - 207 kJ/mol

I'm was wondering which type of clear plastic is the best sound insulator for the price. I'm aiming to spend about $2-3sqft.

So far, the only viable option seem to be forms of polycarbonate. If you agree, which form do you think is best? If not, which forms of clear plastic would you prefer for sound insulation?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Can all metals below carbon in the reactivity series be extracted by it??? Because in my science book it says that less reactive metals such as silver copper and lead get extracted by air. E.g. lead sulfide + oxygen -> lead oxide + sulfur dioxide. Bt then it also says that ones below carbon get extracted by carbon so y is it saying that those metals get extracted by air?
Then it had lead getting extracted by carbon as well :S whats extracted by what!!??? Im so confused...
