LSD stands for lysergic acid diethylamide. It exists as a liquid and it is usually applied to a special type of blotter paper and then cut up into little square tabs which are then placed on the tongue. The tabs are usually called "hits."

"LSD is typically delivered orally, usually on a substrate such as absorbent blotter paper, a sugar cube, or gelatin. In its liquid form, it can be administered by intramuscular or intravenous injection."
