Firstly, heat is a form of energy. So there is nothing meaningful about the statement, what energy conversion occur during heating.

Molecules get excited and have greater movement as they are heated

Heat can cause other types of conversions however. It can covert a solid to liquid by melting, or a liquid to gas by boiling.

You can use heat energy to be converted to other types of energy. A steam bioler can spin a turbine which creates electricity, is a good example.
