I'm was wondering which type of clear plastic is the best sound insulator for the price. I'm aiming to spend about $2-3sqft.

So far, the only viable option seem to be forms of polycarbonate. If you agree, which form do you think is best? If not, which forms of clear plastic would you prefer for sound insulation?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Polystyrene "foamed" plastics, under the name "styrene foam" or "Styrofoam". which work very well for sound asorption.

A sheet of plastic cannot be used as sound insulation, no matter how many sheets!
If low frequency bass can travel though walls, hello!
If transparency is a priority, you have no choice but glass or very thick plexi...or why bother!

Think of two thinner polycarbonate sheets separated by air or if possible, a little vacuum for more effective acoustic insulation. If clarity was not an issue, styrofoam or polyurethan foam would have been good candidates.

placed somewhat drop of nail polish remover on a cotton wool ball and after scraping away the tag wipe gently with the cotton wool the residue will immediately disappear. Be sparing with the nail polish remover on plastics in spite of the undeniable fact that because of the fact it may take a shine off or stain. On glass or the backside of footwear etc you could nicely be somewhat extra energetic.
