These are the equations I am having troble writing as ionic and net ionic equations.

1. NaBr + AgNO3 -- NaNO3 _ AgBr(s)

2. NiCl2 + 2KOH -- Ni(OH)2(s) + 2KCl

3. K2CrO4 + Pb(NO3)2 --PbCrO4(s) + 2KNO3

4. 3BaCl2 + Al2(SO4)3 --3BaSO4(s) + 2Alcl3

5. AgNO3 + Kl -- Agl(s) + KNO3

6. 2HCl + Ca(OH)2 -- H2O + CaCl2

I have a problem with an elderly relative who could be harmed by ingesting products containing alcohol, obviously we will try to make sure no dangerous substances are around but we wondered if this meant that alcohol was removed ? I need you help. I am trying to my Chemistry PPA in scotland.

The effect of Concentration Changes on Reaction rate.

By adding ameasured amount of water to the potassium iodide while keeping the total volume of the mixture the same.
ie. 1st : 100%potassium iodide (25cm cubed) + no water
2nd : 80% potassium iodide (20cm cubed) + 20% water (5cm cubed)
All other factors had to be kept constant in volume and concentration (1mol-1 sulphuric acid, 0.1 mol-1 hydrogen peroxide, 0.005 mol-1 sodium thiosulphate) also temperture.

Then we woek out the rate of reaction by doing a stop clock thing where we watch for it turnign black, and the dividing 1 by time. Draw a graphVolume of KI (cm cubed) against Rate s-1

anyway to the point WHAT IS THE CONCLUSUION OF THIS EXPERIMENT. I JUST DONT KNOW

A solution with I- and a sour solution with Cr2O72- is mixed. Cr3+ and I is the result of this. What is the formula for this reaction?

I basically don't know how to balance it.. The unbalanced thing I presume is Cr2O72- + Cr3+ --> I + Cr3+. Then, I'm lost!

I posted this in the wrong place, I just figured out what I'm doing, sorry. So here is is again.

This is a good one. There are several of us that are inflicted with the dreaded Sulfur Burps, we have gotten together here at yahoo to try to find an answer, the Dr's think we are crazy and tell us it will go away, don't worry about it, never heard it.

It is a very real debilitating chronic problem for many of us.

We need a biochemist to help us I think.

I have done a lot of research but since I know nothing much about Chemistry and the reaction of chemicals, I'm here.


I know that sulfur is blamed for the smell, the smell of rotten eggs. I know that the odor associated with rotten eggs is actually due to hydrogen sulfide.

I know that many metal sulfides are so insoluble that they are probably not very toxic. Some metal sulfides, when exposed to a strong mineral acid, including gastric acids, will release toxic hydrogen sulfide. How does this happen? What would cause such a reaction?

When I learned this I said, Aha.. gastric acids and metal sulfides have something to do with this, so now what is a metal sulfide? What is the correlation between Gastric Acid and Metal Sulfide?

Now, I just read something about foods that have the additive sulfur dioxide.

I know that there must be a chemical reaction going on in the stomach causing the burping smell of rotten eggs/sulfur.

People have had all sorts of tests done with no results, tried all kids of meds with no results. It's like the food in sitting in the stomach and rotting causing Hydrogen Sulfide to build to the point it explodes and that's how you feel, like you are just going to explode.

There are all sorts of speculation about it being caused by a parasite, a virus, an allergy. And I think it is a chemical reaction to things that maybe we are sensitive to. So it would be an allergy to the chemicals in certain food.

If any one can answer this question I will nominate you for chemist of the year.
