I don't know where the drip can come from, lines have been checked. But can the water freeze at 46 degrees and only the water in the bowl? Nothing else in the fridge, just the bowl of water.

When a 3.25g sample of solid sodium hydroxide was dissolved in a calorimeter in 100.0g of water, the temperature rose from 23.9 degrees C to 32.0 degrees C. Calculate the enthalpy change (in kJ/mol NaOH) for the soln process:

NaOH (s)------->Na+ (aq) + OH (aq)

(Assume it's a perfect calorimeter and that the specific heat of the soln is the same as that of pure water.)

thanks to all you chem wizards lol

I have 2 ques:

-Calculate the final temperature when 50mL of water at 60 degrees C are added to 25mL of water at 25 degrees C.

-A piece of metal weighing 5.10 g at a temperature of 48.6 degrees C was placed in a calorimeter into 20.00mL of water at 22.1 degrees C, and the final equilibrium temperature was found to be 26.8 degrees C. What is the specific heat of the metal?

I thought specific heat=q (heat in J)/ (m)(change in temp)...but I can't seem to use that for this problem...

any help is greatly appreciated!!!
