I don't know where the drip can come from, lines have been checked. But can the water freeze at 46 degrees and only the water in the bowl? Nothing else in the fridge, just the bowl of water.

I have put the thermometer in her fridge. It is one made specifically for this purpose. I will add another to make sure. I believe she is tampering with things but just wanted other input. Thanks

The water collected probably comes from condensation. The water in the bowl that "freezes " at 46 degrees F is not being measured with an accurate thermometer. Anything added to the water would make it freeze at a lower temp. Check with a different thermometer.Water freezes at 32 F. Some refrigerators do have a cold spot, but freezing of water is still at 32.

How does she know the temperature was is 46 deg? Ignorant folk like your neighbor do not usually own a thermometer and do not realize that as soon as they take it out of the frig. it starts rising.

Tell her to stick to cleaning the frig and leave scientific matters alone.
