Cats raised by their mothers hunt small rodents, insects and other creatures. Cats raised in the isolation from other cats generally do not hunt these things. Do you think hunting in cats is learned or instinctual? WHY?

OK, evolutionists. I'm not a creationist but there are some facets of evolutionary theory that don't seem to explain certain things. Such as occurances of closely related species with ranges far from each other that can't be explained by continental drift or ice bridges or whatever. Explain, please: northwestern Atlantic
pink shrimp, pandalus borealis, inhabits Georges Bank and the Gulf of Maine. The very closely related northeastern Pacific bay shrimp, pandalus jordani, the coast from northern California to Puget Sound. As there was always thousands of miles of continent between these locations, and the Atlantic was closed up during the Panagea epoch, how did pandalus get to and then evolve in what became the Gulf of Maine?????

(But thank God it did. It's high into shrimping season at this time. Yum! Tum!)

2Some fish and amphibians can control their color by regulating specialized pigmented organelles called melanosomes, that can be dispersed throughout the cell, making the cell darker, or aggregated in the center of the cell to make the cell lighter. You purify the melanosomes from melanophores that have either aggregated or dispersed melanosomes and find that in one state the melanosomes co-purify with kinesin and in the other state melanosomes co-purify with dynein. Propose a mechanism for how aggregation and dispersal of melanosomes occur.

Please settle this friendly debate. I say, genes are encoded in DNA, wrapped up into the chromosomes we all know and love, and of which you get half from each parent. Therefore you inherit all your genes. A friend of mine thinks she read that there are hereditary and non-hereditary genes - has anyone else heard about this? What does it mean? My only explanation is that the random mutations that can arise are meant, as neither parent has those, and I suppose occasionally a mutation could occur in an actual gene, making it so different as to be, well, not inherited.

Do you think it is possible that the reason human beings are so mentally superior to other earthly life forms is because we are actually hybrid alien/mammals? If so, any supporting facts or ideas relevant to this question?
