Do you think it is possible that the reason human beings are so mentally superior to other earthly life forms is because we are actually hybrid alien/mammals? If so, any supporting facts or ideas relevant to this question?

First off, humans aren't that superior in intelligence, compared to other animals; by instance, most primates, and dolphins, can communicate.

The big step we humans took beyond other species is abstract thinking: we can not only have ideas about concrete things in the here and now, we can also have ideas about other ideas, and about things removed from us by time, space or other limitations; we can manipulate symbols as if they were real entities, while other animals can barely conceive symbols.

How, exactly, humans evolved to have such a differentiated intelligence, no one knows yet; the best clues until now are in how the old species of primates evolved to what they are now.

As for alien forms of life, there is no evidence of the existence of any, neither in this planet nor elsewhere. Anyway, there is nothing on the human genome which points to mixing with a different species; all DNA differences from other primates can be explained by evolution and accumulated mutations.

I feel that we are a cross hybrid between aliens and apes. There had to be some kind of missing link for us to have developed into who we are today. Neanderthals are the true hybrids between apes and a far superior genetic race.Together they produced an intelligent species capable of discovering things and analyzing the complexities of the world around them. Being able to master a complex set of skills and reproducing them successfully is a sign of true intelligence.

extremeley unlikely. In the past few decades we have just started to scratch the surface of knowledge gained by molecular analysis. One of the KEY points so far is that ALL LIFE on earth share similarities at the molecular level (including us humans). The implication is that life on earth came into being by the same processes.

It's certainly possible (and some have even conjectured) that life may have had multiple starts on earth. Our knowledge is limited right now but growing by leaps and bounds. The picture should become more clear in the next century or so.

Your smart, it is possible that we really dont belong on this planet, its a possiblitity we are aliens from maybe Mars, maybe an asteroid hit mars and carried our DNA to Earth. We really are different than any other species. But we do have mammary glands and other species on earth have mammary glands, so we might be hybrid. But there is no facts of us being our own aliens. The real answer to your question, might be actually a little different than what you are thinking. We actually might not be that very smart at all. We might only think we are, but are actually very dumb. Like maybe there is another species out in space that has had more time to develop and is smarter than us. Maybe they are larger than us, like maybe we are ant size and they are human size looking down on us. But maybe through millions of years of evolution we might evolve to a superspecies, possibly dominating our milky way galaxy. Instead of Iraq and the US fighting it might be Earthlings VS. some other species. Email me if you got more questions, I love astronomy.

That is a popular theory.

I think when they start doing more detailed DNA genome extracts and mapping them out we would see whether there is any validity to this claim.
