Mammals (including us humans), reptiles and birds all breath actively using the same organ. Fish use a different 'organ' to handle the transfer of oxygen from the environment to the bloodstream. Some amphibians have active breathing, some use a more fish-like method of oxygen transfer.

They have lungs. In snakes, make that "a lung."
