While walking the beach today, in Florida, I came across a small maroon colored, round shaped jelly like creature ( almost like a small human tongue). On it bottom it had a small like tail coming out of it. Any help identifying this animal would be appreciated !

What I'm asking is why aren't children of the same parents exactly the same? Is it that each sperm has a different set of chromosones or each egg...or does it happen later on in the development?

Has the gene been found that causes homosexuality? If it has, I'm wondering how it is passed on (even if it is recessive), given that the vast majority of homosexuals do not procreate? I don't know much about genetics, but it seems like a strange problem. If you have any insight, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Chicago area, we get infested with these every October. I thought it was some kind of ladybug, but it looks nothing like the ladybugs I grew up knowing. It is all black except for an orange V on its back, 3 pairs of legs, and seems to be able to fly.

Bit of a specialist question.

Most commercial vendors info tells you if their antibody works on western blots or for immunohistochemistry or for immunocytochemistry.

Why should any antibody work for one of the above but not for all?

What properties of the antibody cause this difference in efficiency in various applications?

of eyes and being gay.

I dont want to offend anybody gay or cross eyed but i think:

(And let me add that i am definitely not a homophopic person with many gay friends and i believe this is genetic.)

I think : A large number of gay guys have a certain look where their eyes are some what cross...or distance between their eyes are somewhat unique?? This is just an observation.

I do realize there are gays with perfect eyes but there is a large group with a different eye distance.

I think this may be genetic, just like woman with longer ring finger than index finger being better in sports. (type.)

Please dont make smart aass comments.. I am trying to find out if anybody else observed this... Thats all. Just checking the collective wisdom and knowledge.

And i dont believe all cross eyed people are gay either... (so save your breath.)

Did you know that Mutations are birth defects and other abnormatliteis such as cancer. Also that mutations result in a loss of DNA information not a gain, based upon scientific fact? Usually they result in death. If so, then why do you blindly put your faith in 19th century, backwards, "science"- aka the Theory of Evolution?

Is it posibly because you would rather believe in anything short of insanity and beyond then in God and I.D.?

Some scientist you people turned out to be, claiming Evolution as fact. That is a bold statement, since it heavily relies on faith and guestamations.

This is just one example of the many conflicts that facts have with Theory.

Facts don't go away.

But you can ignore them if you want. Keep on living in the truth as you see it, rather than scientific facts as they are.

Just do not call yourself a scientist, or your religion, a Science.

At some point the body (brain) no longer functions and is unable to realize it's condition. One may know they are dying, but from the point of death, all memory function is gone along with the life it held, therefore no realization one is dead. Does this mean we never really die, as the last thing we remember, is the last thing we remember?
