Chicago area, we get infested with these every October. I thought it was some kind of ladybug, but it looks nothing like the ladybugs I grew up knowing. It is all black except for an orange V on its back, 3 pairs of legs, and seems to be able to fly.

See asian beetle. Very popular in Iowa.
Now you know, try different products related. No one around here can agree on the best.

are u sure it is not a potato beetle? The look like lady bug but dullin color and boy do they bite! They love white or light colored houses..........they are harmless when they get inside house....
