Why is it that when I really have to poo I can't hold it in and have to run to the bathroom when I am at home, but when I am in class or somewhere public I can hold in my poo, even if I have to really go?

Long ago dinosaurs ruled the Earth. It was a time when reptiles were king.

Now it's obviously humans who are the domniant species on the planet. But nothing lasts forever. Someday we will be gone.

When we go, what species will step up and become the rulers of this planet?

I think it'll be a battle between insects and microbes (viruses, probably).

Science has recently discovered that the number of human cells in our bodies is outnumbered by bacteria cells.

Remember in the movie The Matrix, when Agent Smith is telling Morpheus that the human race doesn't act like mammals at all, but instead acts more like a virus? How we spread unchecked across the globe, devouring and destroying all the natural resources we come into contact with? In essence, that we are basically parasites living off the Earth?

Here's my question: since we are (technically and scientifically speaking) more bacteria than mammal, is it possible that we end up THINKING and ACTING more like bacteria than mammals?

Now I know that the science-fearing Christian evangelicals that seem to have infested Yahoo Answers are going to yell and scream at me and tell me that I'm going to Hell, but let's put that aside and actually put some thought into our answers, shall we?

So sad that I am still asking this question 80 years after the scopes
trial. So sad that, not only is this issue not settled yet, but that there
is a stronger movement now than ever before to bring creationism back into the school...maybe the question I should be asking is, are we DEVOLVING" our educational system? Are we going to
be teaching students that the earth is flat, and that there are four
basic elements of matter. Will we be teaching students how do make stone tools after that?
