Our teacher told us that mussels injest acidic/dirty materials nut they don't digest it and remains in their body sao when we eat mussel we are the one that will be suffering because of the materialsthey store in their body? Can you tell me w/c body part is that?

The evolutionary process that mussel's have undergone has enabled them to survive in harsher environments. It's the same reason, why people today are more immune to diseases and are able to withstand and survive them than people hundreds of years ago.

Mussels are in the Cohoag family. Their "bodies" act as filters. It is best to soak them in aerated water for 24 to 48 hours before you eat them so they can expel their waste.
