I think his idiotic stance has driven great scientists to search for other venues in which to conduct research. Geez, what a boob. I'm never voting for a fundamentalist christian. Brownback, pay attention, moron!

example#1:If the DNA strand had the following sequence:
A C G C G T A G A A A C G C G G A T T A

then the enzyme that cuts it would be FnuD II beacuse it recognizes the sequence CGCG. Fnu II will cut the DNA between the C and the G. The cut strand of DNA would look like this:
A C G C G T A G A A A C G C G G A T T A

The result is 3 fragments of pieces of DNA. The first fragment contains 3 nitrogen bases, second frag contains 10 bases, and third contains 7 bases.

Determine which enzyme cuts each strand of DNA. Seperate each strand with a . where it should be cut. Indictae the name of enzyme, number of fragments produced, and size of each fragment(number of bases). You wont use all enzymes.

TABLE OF RESTRICTION ENZYMES
NAME ENZYME vs RECOGNITION SITE
Alu I AG<->CT
Bcl I T<->GATCA
Bal I TGG<->CCA
Cla I AT<->CGAT
FnuD II CG<->CG
Stu I AGG<->C
Mst II T<->CGA

I need to press some material in a bonding process and need to exert 200 p.s.i. on this material. Assuming that by using a tool I can press directly onto an area 1 square inch, can I exert 200 p.s.i. on this area?

I had an argument with a girl who claimed that women can be just as strong as men. I disagreed and said the strongest man is still stronger than the strongest woman. Even during puberty, boys grow bigger muscle mass than girls do. What do you guys think?

This is a direct quote from the religion board;

"I have two questions for you:
If we all came from monkeys, why is there still monkeys on earth
and, why are we not evolving from monkeys now. instead we reproduce children within our own bodies, so why did we stop evolving from monkeys?"

Now I ask you, how is someone like myself, or anyone else who studies the Science of Evolution supposed to answer such an inane question?
No, really? How?
When dealing with someone so profoundly ignorant, how am I expected to dumb down the explanation to the point where this person can understand? I submit that it is impossible.
I mean honestly, look at the question!
Let me try and explain it to you. Humans (us) and monkeys (primates) all share a common ancestor. We did not evolve from apes or chimpanzees, they are related to us by common ancestry. That's why we share 99.983% of our DNA with them.
I hope this clears up some confusion and ignorance for some of you, though I doubt it.

Or are Creationists unable to see the connection? If there were no evolution, why would we need new antibiotics?

What do blind people see?

If we shut our eyes we dont see nothing we see black as eyelids cover our vision. But what do they see or dont? One for thought but only a blind person who once could see can only answer this.
