the genes for eye colour are always in a set of two. You get one from your mom, one from your dad.

The brown gene for the eyes is dominate. If you have a blue and a brown gene, the brown will cover up the blue and you will have brown eyes. the same as green and grey. brown cover them up.

the only way to get blue, grey, green eyes (any of them) is to have two RECESSIVE genes. you can have blue green eyes by having one blue, one green gene.

If your parents have brown eyes, it IS possible to get bl/grey/gr eyes out of it as they both have two genes and both parents make a gene to give you and its a 25% chance, but you could get the recessive gene from each.

this is basic biology and I remember it in simple terms.. sorry if it's not described well!

It's to do with genetics. Brown/black coloured iris is the dominant gene, while blue and green are recessive genes. This means that because Asians are almost all seen to have brown eyes they will be carrying at least one if not two dominant genes (brown) for their eye colour, and if you have a dominant gene you will always have brown eyes. However if you have brown eyes and one is a dominant gene while the other is a recessive gene and you create offspring with someone that has the same gene setup or has blue/green eyes therefore two recessive genes then depending on the outcome. it is possible to pass on the recessive gene and have two parents with brown eyes and a child with blue/green eyes. it's all to do with genetics. Hope this helps.

The lightening of Europeans from darker ancestral stock was drastic and sudden due to a nutrient deficiency in neolithic farming diets and the heavy cloud cover in northern Europe. The funny shifts in hair and eye color were a side effect.

Lighter Asians probably lightened more gradually.

The reason why Caucasians have fair skin is because they did not have enough vitamin d in their diet. The skin becoming fair allowed more vitamin d to be manufactured when the sun radiated on their skin. The genes that allow the skin to be fair is the same genes that allow the eye color to be different from the rest of the world.

Caucasians are more of a mixture of nationalities- more intermixing of blood, therefore, more variety. Most Asians, have stayed pure and have the coloring of their parents.

From the beginning, our coloring was determined by where we were born, for reasons of the environment, protection from heat, sun, cold, wind, etc etc., as wisely decided by our maker:)

I have no idea how it plays into genetics, or human evolution, but...

No species of human has moved around as much as the caucasian. Maybe movement, and the changing of environments plays a role?

All people of color, have brown eyes, because they are genetically adapted in areas where the sun is hotter and potentially more dangerous. the darker pigment reduces immediate glare on the eye.

If you don't believe in evolution, then God instantly created people with brown eyes for the same reason.

It probably has to do with the same environmental causes that creates skin color.

Caucasians have light colored eyes and skin because their ancestors came from a colder region where sunlight is weaker. Thus, skin faded to enable them to generate vitamin D from sunlight and eye color faded to gather more sunlight for vision.

Asians are descendants from people who lived in a hotter and brightly lit region. Thus, both skin color and eye colors are often darker.
