Is there something in our genetic code that tells our cells to start breaking down at some point? Shouldn't there be a creature that is one with nature completely and does not eventally wither away?

Is the soul the byproduct of cognitive conditions of carbon-based mammals? If a robot is built with the same cognitive power, can it obtain a soul like a human? is a braindead person still have a soul? If you go through a teleportation machine with your molecules rescontructed again, can you lose your soul that way?

I've been working in a biology lab over the summer, and at the end of the program we have to give a poster of our work (with the abstract due less than a week from now). But I've only been here about six weeks, so obviously I don't have any significant data to present (I've been working with a postdoc on his project that will take a couple years to complete), and I haven't been able to get anyone to give me any advice on what I should actually write about (and yes, I have asked). I've written plenty of abstracts for lab reports and stuff, but the main point there is always the major conclusion of the paper, so I'm not sure where to even start for this one. Any suggestions?

Everytime I taste blood it gives the distinctive flavor of copper. Every sci-fi novel I read mentions a copper taste in their mouth, so I know my taste buds aren't messed up.

What element inside the human body makes your blood have the distinctive flavor of copper?

Someone asked a question about mitocondria behavior during mitosis. The fact that mitochondria are transmitted via the female, I guess the sperm has no mitochondria, but then how does it get energy?

Question: Why is population the smallest unit that can evolve?

Choose a, b, c, d, or e. Thanks.

Need some people strong in biology/evolution!

Here are the choices: I've looked up this question for hours online and have read my books. Really interested to know. Need to know for my assignment.

a. Species from different populations do not interbreed.
b. All methods of evolution require chromosomes from more than one organism
c. Offspring of organisms within two populations provide sufficient genetic material to permit evolution of the species to occur.
d. Mutations can only occur across multiple population members.
e. Multiple diploid gamates are required to provide a foundation for the change.

Thanks for everyone's help!!!!
